Globalwarming Awareness2007 Egg Blog

The globalwarming awareness2007 eggs are spreading around the net nicely.  They have been spotted on Russian blogs, Finish blogs, Gaia profiles, Thai forums, UK forums, German forums, American forums, Myspace profiles and loads of other places.  It’s getting exciting now! The site’s traffic is also rising, yesterday it was about 400 uniques.

So where is the site in the race for top search engine ranking for the term “globalwarming awareness2007″?  Well according to the official score card the site is ranked 53rd.  A big improvement from a couple of weeks ago.  Still not great though, but there is still time.  Although, that’s the problem, I can’t dedicate the time that’s needed in order to win this competition.  Some of the front runners have got loads of links and are updating their blogs daily. Oh well, we’ll see what happens.

There are a couple of other sites (competitors) that have put together some clever ranking scripts that give an alternative leaderboard based on positions in the search engines.  Here is a snap shot of my positions a few days ago:

Apparently, my best Google rank is 4!  4!! Huh?  What?  When?  Nah, I don’t believe it.

What is the Globalwarming Awareness2007 Egg Blog?  It’s got nothing to do with egg nog.  It’s actually an entry into the SEO World Championships.  A competition to get top rankings for the term Globalwarming Awareness2007 in Google, MSN and Yahoo.

Yeah, but why ‘eggs’ I hear you ask.  Well I wanted to create something a little different from the usual, I’m an eccentric Brit after all.  I wanted something that would encourage people to actually link to the site, make them smile and at the same time actually create awareness of the globalwarming problem.  The egg graphics can be put onto web pages etc and will ‘hatch’ into animals that are endangered by globalwarming.

So the Globalwarming Awareness2007 Egg Blog is all about my attempts to make an impact on this seo competition and the seo community as a whole.
